CAUSES AND SOLUTION OF AN OVERHEATING PC
Ventilation
Depriving your Pc of ventilation is a straight and short road to overheating. The major cause of overheating Pc is a malfunctioning cooling system. The cooling system control the flow of cool and hot air in your Pc, immediately they are malfunctioning, your Pc is vulnerable to overheating.
Dust pose a great peril to your Pc. It is main cause of the cooling system malfunctioning. Dust and debris clog the air vents therefore impeding the air flow. Accumulation of dust and lint over the fan causes it to work harder and become noisy as a result. A layer of this filth which acts as an insulator, covering other heat generating parts such as the RAM and the Hard Disk can also be a cause of overheating.
Solution to this problem is to cleanup your cooling system, you can do it yourself By using a can of compressed air or a slight damp cloth ensure that air vents are clean. But if you can't do it yourself, it is okay, go to an expert to do it for you. But I would advise you to be very careful while cleaning.

- Always place your laptop upon a hard, sturdy and flat surface. Under no circumstance should you place your Pc on your lap or soft surface like a pillow or a mattress because it would sink in and block the vent, which in turn cause overheating.
- Try to provide some elevation beneath the laptop. You could probably place a book underneath it or buy a laptop stand if you can afford it. Doing this, you allow a lot more air to flow beneath the laptop leading to efficient dismissal of heat.
- Make sure your Pc has been successfully shutdown before placing it in your bag or briefcase. Doing this would prevent heat to accumulate in one place which may cause overheating.
